About Charlotte

While Charlotte may be slowing, losing its historical treasures to modern development, there are still a few gems to be found. Rosedale Plantation was built in 1815 for Archibald Frew. Frew was a merchant, postmaster, and tax collector. The neighbors called it "Frew's Folly" though no one is sure why. It was once part of a 911-acre plantation.

One of the most prevalent and significant events in Charlotte is the Race for the Cure held every October. The RFTC is held to raise money for the Susan G Komen foundation. It gives participants a chance to do something good for their selves and help others.

Got a poochie and love baseball? Love to go to games but hate to leave your best friend at home? Well, if you're around Charlotte in August, you don't have to worry. Simply bring your pal to see the Charlotte Knights during the Dog Days of Summer.

Come June, the SouthPark area comes alive with strains of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart drifting through the air. Now celebrating its 12th anniversary, the Pops in the Park is one of the most anticipated events of the summer.
